Design by Atelier N
Handmade ceramics made to commission. The pieces shown are examples; each commission is shaped, carved and glazed by hand and will be unique, with natural variation in form, glaze and texture.

Details
Handmade ceramics made to commission by Studio N based in London. Choose the piece that speaks to you and the artist will make one especially for you, guided by your space, colours and scale. Rather than imposing form, the artist listens to the clay, letting its resistance and unpredictability guide the process, so every commission is one of a kind, carrying its own finger marks, carved lines and pooled glazes.

Made by hand in London from natural clay and fired to last for generations. Clay offcuts are reclaimed and reworked in the studio, so very little goes to waste, and local making means a short journey from the artist's hands to your home.

Delivery & Returns
Each piece is carefully packed by the artist and dispatched directly from their London studio, delivery costs and timings will be confirmed when you enquire.

The five pieces shown here are examples of the artist's work, from a tall, tiered vessel in charcoal and teal threaded with cream lines, to a folded vase streaked with ochre, moss and raspberry pink, a softly carved celadon cup, a rounded white vessel banded with earthy brown, and a small bowl with an inky, glossy interior.
From the Artist
Atelier N sees the self not as separate from nature, but as part of a world that is always changing, shaped by the relationships and encounters along the way. Clay is never just something to be shaped. It holds traces of the past, responds to the present and carries possibilities for what comes next. In the studio, hands meet earth, water, air and fire, and together they create forms that can never be fully predicted. Rather than imposing form, she listens to the material, letting its resistance and unpredictability guide the process.
This is both an artistic and an ethical practice, grounded in attention, care and respect for the natural world. Each piece carries the trace of a meeting between material, time and touch. For Atelier N, ceramics is a way of thinking, feeling and growing with the world, a journey from the known towards the unknown.
Why Elken Chose It
At Elken, we believe the objects in our spaces should carry meaning, not just fill them. Atelier N's work captures that belief beautifully. Her approach begins with listening to the material rather than forcing it, which mirrors the respect for natural resources at the heart of everything we curate.
Every piece is made by hand in London, shaped as much by the clay and the kiln as by the maker. No two are ever the same, and the small irregularities are part of their story. For architects, designers and homeowners looking for pieces with real presence, these ceramics bring warmth, honesty and a connection to the earth into any interior.
We’re proud to champion a local maker whose work reminds us that good design is slow, thoughtful and made with care.
