Details
Willow is a lightweight 100% hemp with a fine, even weave and a fluid drape. It's soft to the touch yet resilient, so it gathers cleanly on a pole or track and hangs well over time. At 157cm wide it makes up generously for curtains, and its breathability makes it a natural choice for bedrooms and sunny rooms. Finished with oxygen based bleaching and mechanical softening, so it arrives ready to use.
Best for: curtains and sheer curtains, Roman and roller blinds, cushions, bed linen styling, table linen.

Product Care
Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle and low spin. Expect some shrinkage on first wash, so pre-wash before making up curtains, or allow for it. Avoid drying in direct sunlight, especially Ink Blue and Terracotta.

A light, airy hemp with a fine even weave and a soft, natural fall, made for curtains and blinds.
From the Studio
Leaf & Loom is a Somerset studio devoted to one fibre: hemp. Founder Camilla Pugh has worked with it for over fifteen years and set out to show it at its best. People tend to picture hemp as rough and rustic, but these fabrics are refined and made to last. There are heavy canvases and twills for upholstery, and softer cloths for curtains and cushions, in pure hemp or blended with linen, cotton or silk. The European hemp is grown in France, the Netherlands and Germany, then woven in Eastern Europe by mills they've worked with for years.
Why Elken Chose It
Hemp is one of the most impressive natural fibres there is. It grows quickly with little water and far fewer pesticides than most crops, and it leaves the soil in better shape than it found it. As a fabric, it's one of the strongest natural fibres you can buy, and it gets softer every time it's washed. It breathes well and wears in rather than out. Because it's entirely plant based, it breaks down naturally at the end of its life. Leaf & Loom's fabrics show how refined a truly natural cloth can be, and that's why we wanted them on Elken.
